CES2025 was held in Las Vegas from January 7-10, with the theme "Dive In", attracting more than 130,000 professional attendees and focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, automotive, chip technology, smart home and more.Rxmicro brought its latest IoT terminal applications and chip solutions to the conference, and set up five exhibition areas, including consumer electronics, machine vision, streaming media technology, smart audio and AI algorithms, to showcase the achievements of chip technology in multiple dimensions.

In the Consumer Electronics Zone, a number of AI tablets were displayed, featuring RK3588S, RK3576, and RK3562, supporting AI-PQ/MEMC/SR and real-time subtitle display and translation.The RK3588S AI Tablet is an extremely popular intelligent education product in China, combining a learning machine, tablet PC and PC, with the built-in Arigatou AI assistant "Hi Echo", which has a subversive impact on the education model and greatly improves the teaching effect and learning efficiency.

Meanwhile, there are also the latest e-book products and desktop robots equipped with RK3576. AI smart glasses with RV1106B attracted much attention, supporting recording up to 5 million 30FPS video, taking photos up to 12 million, integrating multi-frame noise reduction, HDR shooting, EIS electronic stabilization, dark-light enhancement and other technologies to improve image quality in all aspects. 2M video power consumption of 250mw, standby power consumption is as low as 2mw. smart audio zone displayed the smart audio with the RK3308 and the RK3308.RK2118 series of audio products, including Party Box, car audio, soundbar and other applications. Based on Rxmicro's self-developed vocal and instrument separation algorithms, RK3308 and RK2118 can realize the separation of multiple audio tracks to meet the needs of karaoke and musical instruments, and also combine with Rxmicro's surround sound algorithms to provide accurate vocal enhancement of the center channel and three-dimensional surround sound field effects.

The AI algorithm exhibition area showcases the newly launched RK3588-based intelligent assistant and dressing assistant.The intelligent assistant utilizes the LLM model running on the end-side to answer all kinds of inquiries, provides a retrieval enhancement technology module, and can become an expert in all kinds of products by adding different product documents in seconds; integrates ASR and TTS algorithms to allow users to have voice conversations with it; and supports the digital human technology to experience immersive interactions.The Dressing Assistant is based on a locally-run multimodal large model, which can quickly analyze the user's style preferences based on the photos or information uploaded by the user and provide a variety of dressing combinations; it responds quickly and makes suggestions in real time, and can be applied in the field of smart home and personal assistant smart devices.

Also, Linaro announced the publication of version 1.0 of 96Boards System-on-Module (SOM) specifications. 96Boards is Linaro’s initiative to build a single software and hardware community across low-cost development boards based on Arm technology.

Today two 96Boards SOM specifications have been launched - the Compute Module Specification and the Wireless Specification. Both specifications encourage the development of reliable and cost-effective embedded platforms for building end-products. The specifications have been proposed, created and reviewed by the current 96Boards Steering Committee Members.
● The Compute Module Specification, which defines a SOM with generic module-to-carrier board interface, independent of the specific SoC choice on the module. The Compute module addresses the application requirements of segments including industrial automation, smart devices, gateway systems, automotive, medical, robotics and retail POS systems.
● The Wireless specification designs a SOM for interchangeable wireless module applications, supporting standard and/or proprietary wireless standards such as 802.15.4, BLE, WiFi, LoRa, NB-IoT, LTE-M etc. The specification is designed to enable evolution that will support multiple products and future wireless standards.
The launch of the new 96Boards specifications means that developers now have a SOM solution which is compatible across SoCs. SOM solutions today use a variety of different connector solutions including SO-DIMM connectors used in DRAM and Mini Module Plus (MMP) connectors for certain specialist boards. Up until now, there has been no solution offering flexible IO and a robust mounting mechanism, nor a standard form factor. The new 96Boards SOM specifications aim to address this lack of choice by producing a general purpose SOM platform that will enable plug and play compatibility between a whole range of different SOM solutions.

The international forum “AI in 5G - Leading the New Era Forum” was held in Shenzhen on March 6. At the conference, Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (AIIA) officially announced the first round of “AIIA DNN benchmark V0.5” evaluation results. As one of the products evaluated in the first round, Rockchip RK3399 passed the evaluation.

Mainly targeting the edge and based on AIIA’s authoritative test platform, AIIA DNN benchmark V0.5 objectively reflects the performance of processors with DNN acceleration capacity in completing inference tasks under four typical application scenarios. According to Sun Mingjun, the Leader of the General Group of AIIA, the first round of evaluation involved four typical application scenarios and two major categories of testing indicators, including speed (fps) and algorithm performance, such as top1, top5, mAP, mIoU, PSNR, etc.. It is the first benchmark in the field of deep learning processor that distinguishes integer and float comparison.

AI solution Rockchip RK3399 ,adoting 28nm process, participated in the first round of evaluation. The results showed that while fixed-point retraining was not required in float models, int8 achieved the performance double that of float computation at the price of a maximum precision loss of 1%.

Furthermore, in the Interpretation evaluation, AIIA tried to evaluate quantization and float models separately for the first time in the benchmark. The development board based on Rockchip RK3399, showed superior performance in a number of indicators, which were at the leading level in the industry.

The powerful performance of Rockchip RK3399 development board is also attributed to Tengine, a lightweight modular high-performance neural network inference engine developed by OPEN AI LAB. It specifically targets the optimization of Arm embedded devices without relying on third-party databases and supports Android and Liunx.
Tengine supports different common convolutional neural networks, including SqueezeNet, MobileNet, AlexNet, ResNet, etc. and the optimization strategies such as layered fusion and 8-bit quantization. In addition, it fully develops the performance of Arm CPU by calling the HCL database targeting the optimization of different CPU architectures. For example, it takes merely 111ms to single-threadedly run the MobileNet at mobile devices one time at the RK3399 platform Cortex-A72.
